DeNovo Contractors has been founded with a vison to provide high quality services and craftmanship in every remodeling and construction project, but yet at an affordable price. Our main goal is to demonstrate that high quality craftmanship does not need to equate with extraordinary high level of dollar expenditures.
Carlos and Alex have lived in the Austin and Bastrop area for over 30 years and have developed highly complementary skills through varied career choices, allowing DeNovo Contractors to provide our clients with well thought out remodeling or construction process and help clients execute on their vison in a managed and controlled environment. For the last 30 plus years, we have experienced the growth of the Austin and surrounding areas and intend to allow our clients to experience enhanced living spaces, with increased function.

Carlos Castro
Carlos Castro started his professional career in Academia and Economic & Business Development in the Austin area over 35 years ago, after he relocated from Puerto Rico to complete his Master in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin and fell in love with the city.
Carlos then transitioned into Institutional Investing for the benefit of the great State of Texas, where he invested in multiple industries and disciplines, led a team of professional investors, and developed important skills directly transferable into our newly created business.
Essential business skills like market research, administration, procurement, pricing, project management, and leadership are embedded into DeNovo Contractors. With a keen understanding of markets, we’ll seek to provide our clients with high quality and dependable services, as well as quality craftsmanship, allowing us to develop long-lasting relationships built on trust, communication, and accountability.
Co-Founder & Project Manager
Alejandro Nunez
Alejandro Nunez began his career in construction at the age of 13, starting in trim carpentry and quickly developing a strong foundation in the trades. By the age of 15, he was already managing his own crews, demonstrating leadership, work ethic, and a hands-on understanding of construction from an early age.
At 16, Alejandro transitioned into commercial construction, where he gained experience across nearly every aspect of the labor side of the industry, including framing, drywall, tile, wallpaper, finish work, and project execution. Within a year, he advanced into a Project Manager role overseeing commercial construction operations and coordinating projects from start to finish.
After several years in commercial construction management, Alejandro launched his own company and secured multiple Subway franchise locations as a primary client, managing both new construction and renovation projects for existing stores. His experience in fast-paced commercial environments helped sharpen his skills in scheduling, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, quality control, and client communication.
Later, Alejandro joined a custom home builder as a Project Manager, where he spent approximately 15 years overseeing high-end residential construction projects. During that time, he managed all phases of construction, working closely with homeowners, subcontractors, inspectors, and design professionals to deliver quality homes with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Today, as Co-Founder of De Novo Contractors LLC, Alejandro brings decades of real-world construction experience, leadership, and project management expertise to every project. He is committed to delivering dependable service, quality workmanship, and lasting relationships built on trust, communication, and accountability.
